Responsible Travel Policy

Policy Aims

The strive is to take travellers on a meaningful travel programme for our direct partners gaining an rich experience increasing the overall experience by not just exploring but also connecting and learning more in-depth about the country.

Believing in quality over quantity, providing detailed attention to specialized programmes given the traveller a personal experience.

Aim is to enhance meaningful travel that is responsible, creating a meaningful travel programme that is sustainable for the long term development. Tourism can have both positive and negative impacts on local communities and therefore believe in providing a services programme with awareness about the location and it´s development which is included into programmes.

Economic responsibility

Providing quality service suitable for travellers seeking a memorable experience.

Providing a service which includes of more local stays within the programme, to further enhance income flow for locals in smaller areas but also giving the traveller a rich full cultural experience.

Believing in local restaurants and local stay-overs providing empowerment to small/micro business.

Believing in providing services to small owned lodges  that are locally owned.

Environmental responsibility

In terms of environment programmes are build where the traveller actually can choose to be active in  environmental projects and raise awareness.

The aim is to limit the impact on the environment in several ways. We strive to preserve and protect delicate routes and natural habitats in order to not enhance mass-tourism in remote areas and minimize the effects of our presence in certain areas. We also reduce waste and pollution and recycle, repair and reuse what we can as much as possible.

Furthermore:

- No use of printed brochures and travel programmes are send digitally, to which travellers are informed why we send programmes digital.

- Re-use of printed paper, but mostly try to work digital as much as possible.

- Clients are informed about lack of water and conservation on certain programmes before the programme starts and at stay-overs through a responsible travel briefing.

We have a programme set up that includes of responsible ´´walks´´ where the travellers contributes in clean ups along their walking routes. This is a way for the traveller to learn about conservation  and as a responsible traveller understand about personal responsibility while travelling and the footprint left behind.

Social responsibility

Travel can provide some positive social exchanges, therefore there is focus on  small-educational programmes to further empower our communities without over exposing them.

All of the purpose programmes have been created for the community based on the current needs, clients participating on the programme will be informed about social impacts and the responsibility travellers have while staying in a country and leaving it.

The traveller receives information throughout the purpose programme about culture, social development and education.

All programmes have been developed with the attention on social development and Tourism, with specialization in meaningful travel and community development.

We strongly believe in the human rights protection of local people, in specific the protection of young females being overexposed. We give a voice to this through the women´s empowerment programme of women in rural areas.

Health Policy

It is vital to the programmes that all travellers inform prior to starting the programme about cronical ongoing health issues both of the physical and the mental well-being. We have a logistical plan set-up to insure proper logistics in case of emergency needs; It is of importance that this is informed prior to starting the programmes so that the logistics  are organized as a safety back-up. Prevention is always better than resolving issues along the way, and to unsure the best safe experience for both the traveller as the facilitator this is considered of importance.

Medical posts/units can be quite far out, it is therefor of importance that a safety back-up is organized prior to starting the programmes in case of cronical  ongoing health concerns. Withholding information about ongoing health/ cronical health problems can be considered as a serious concern to which we do not take responsibility in terms of extra costs in emergency plans added in needed cases, nor to the changes adjustments added to the programme in regards to these concerns.

We recommend all travellers to also travel with a secure Medical insurance abroad.

Thank you kindly for understanding and respecting the Health policy.
